Loring Park
A neighborhood in Minneapolis
Loring Park is the southernmost downtown Minneapolis neighborhood, historically known as a queer neighborhood and home to the Twin Cities Pride Festival each June. Its music presence is largely event-driven rather than venue-driven. The Basilica Block Party, held annually on the Basilica grounds just north of the park, draws national acts and thousands of attendees, functioning as one of Minneapolis's signature summer music festivals. The park itself hosts the Twin Cities Pride Festival each summer, including live music programming. The neighborhood's one dedicated music venue is Sisyphus Brewing, on Ontario Avenue West. The performance room seats 88 and is designed to feel like an intimate comedy club, with a table-and-chair floor arrangement and a marquee-style sign behind the bar. The brewery runs a weekly rotating tap list alongside comedy shows featuring local and national comedians. Programming ranges from free open-mic comedy nights to drag events. Beyond stand-up, the taproom is also used for music acts and other events. For a neighborhood this quiet, Sisyphus punches above its weight as a small-room destination.
