Niles

Niles has two distinct live-music stops, each tied to a different dining identity. Sabor a Café, on Milwaukee Ave near Niles' southern border with Chicago, is a South American steakhouse and live-music room with a bar, dining area, and dedicated stage. Fridays lean toward world music and Saturdays toward Latin and jazz, with the room going 21-plus at 10 PM on Saturdays. Every Thursday at 7 PM the Gabriel Datcu Ensemble hosts a jazz jam session open to sit-in players. Ticketed weekend shows have ranged from classic salsa orquesta to Venezuelan llanero folk music to Latin rock tributes. Owner Elio Erraez brings industry ties to the Latin Grammys and the House of Blues to the booking. Une Année, at 6343 W. Gross Point Rd, specializes in Belgian-inspired ales, sours, and wild ales alongside farmhouse ales on the Une Année side and IPAs, American-style ales, and barrel-aged stouts on the Hubbard's Cave side. The brewery hosts live music on Wednesdays from 6:30 to 8:30 PM and Sundays from 3 to 6 PM. Acts tend toward acoustic and roots sounds. The taproom is an industrial-style space with a kitchen focused on homemade barbecue, with fire pits, tents, and string lights on a spacious outdoor patio when weather allows.
